Christina O’Brien Named Chair of Henderson Franklin’s Family Law Department

Fort Myers, FL, Jan. 22, 2022 — (PR.com) — Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, PA, is pleased to announce that shareholder Christina M. O’Brien has been named division president Divorce, Marital and Family Law Department. She succeeds Beth Vogelsang, who shares:
“Christy O’Brien is a respected family law attorney and authority. It is an honor to recognize and thank her for taking on the leadership of the Family Law Department. She serves on the Twentieth Circuit’s Grievance Committee and the Florida Bar’s Family Law Rules Committee and is frequently called upon to serve children and families as guardian ad litem. Leading the Divorce, Marriage and Family Law Department is a natural progression for Christy’s skills and talent. I know she will continue to do great things in service to our firm and the community as she assumes this role.

O’Brien focuses his entire practice in the area of family law. Specifically, she handles divorce and dissolution of marriage, custody, paternity, child support, domestic violence injunctions, post-judgment changes and addiction issues. In 2020 and 2021, Naples Illustrated magazine named O’Brien to its “Top Lawyers” list for his work in family law. Commenting on her new role, she shares:
“What brought me to family law was the desire to help children, and I do that by helping their parents. Serving as an ad litem tutor allows me to assist the judge and get to know families and children on a higher level than I normally do in daily practice. As I step into this leadership role as Chair of Henderson Franklin’s Divorce, Marriage and Family Law Department, I look forward to offering guidance through difficult situations not only to my clients but also to our associates.

O’Brien currently serves on the Fort Myers American Youth Baseball Board of Directors. She previously served on the board of the Association of Family Law Professionals, the Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida, the Family Resource Center of Southwest Florida, and the Lee County Legal Aid Society. Additionally, O’Brien is a member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, the Lee County Bar Association, and the Association of Family Law Professionals.
