Digital asset platform BVNK has appointed former Paypal legal counsel Maximilian von Both as chief legal, risk and compliance officer as it seeks to acquire banking licenses.
The London-based company wants to appeal to a range of financial services firms that want to offer digital asset services to their clients.
Specifically, it helps companies integrate cryptocurrencies into corporate treasury operations.
It says that through a single account, it can help customers bridge fiat currencies and digital assets to manage payments and exchanges.
Von Both’s appointment comes as BVNK seeks to acquire banking licenses in the UK and Europe.
Previously, von Both was senior vice president of compliance for payments company Paysafe.
The qualified lawyer has also worked as legal counsel for PayPal in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
BVNK said “von Both’s experience will prove invaluable as BVNK realizes its vision of using blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies to reshape core banking systems and deliver superior customer experiences.”
BVNK CEO Jesse Hemson-Struthers said, “Crypto-powered bank is better bank. Native digital, it is faster, more efficient and more efficient with lower costs.
“Integrating Max not only speeds up the acquisition of the right licenses, it means we can proactively engage with regulators and shape the development of the industry to benefit business customers.”
