VermontBiz and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce unveiled the ranking of Vermont’s 50 Best Workplaces 2022, at a ceremony on April 6and at the DoubleTree hotel. There were over 300 people present. “With Vermont’s tight labor market, companies are having difficulty filling vacancies. These companies can tell potential employees that their company has been chosen as the best place to work in Vermont. This will give them a head start on recruiting,” said John Boutin, publisher, Vermontbiz. “Congratulations to every company.”
The number 1 company in each category is:
Small (15-99 employees) – New England Excess Exchange Ltd.
Medium (100-249 employees) – New England Air Systems LLC
Large (250+ employees) – Edward Jones
The awards program was established in 2006 and is presented in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management, Vermont State Council, (SHRM), Vermont Department of Economic Development and Workforce Research Group.
This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor Vermont’s best places to work, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce work and its undertakings.
To be considered for participation, companies had to meet the following eligibility requirements:
– Have at least 15 employees working in Vermont.
– Be a for-profit or non-profit business or government entity.
– Be a public or private company.
– Have a facility in the state of Vermont; and
– Must be in business for at least 1 year.
Businesses from across the state participated in the two-part process to determine the best places to work in Vermont. The first part involved evaluating each nominated company’s policies, practices and workplace demographics. This part of the process represented approximately 20% of the total assessment. The second part was an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 80% of the total assessment. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Workforce Research Group managed the entire registration and survey process in Vermont, analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final ranking. Not every company surveyed made the list of best places to work in Vermont.
